A GREAT TIP FOR YOUR NEXT DAY OUT

Friends & Families

WHAT IS FOXTRAIL?

Foxtrail is a treasure hunt with a difference. Participants make their way along an interactive trail, breaking codes and solving tasks in a team. They follow secret messages and crack hidden clues by foot and on public transport across London.

Foxtrail is the ideal activity for families and groups of friends, as well as company excursions, office outings and team building events.

HOW DOES FOXTRAIL WORK?

In teams of 2-7, participants take to the trail with starting documents, tickets and a mobile phone. Teams choose when they want to begin their adventure and set out on their own. Working as a team, the group solves clues that lead them to their next destination as they follow the interactive trail through the city.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Each trail costs £25 per adult and £15 per child.

Please enquire for an individual quote if your group consists of 19 people or more.

DO I NEED TO BOOK FOXTRAIL IN ADVANCE?

The London trail can be booked on the day, depending on availability. Groups of up to 18 people can buy the experience and book their starting time(s) via the website. If it’s a pre-planned activity, we advise you to book in advance.

We ask companies and groups of 19 people or more to book at least a week before their planned Foxtrail adventure, so we can arrange a host and other hospitality packages. Large groups will need to provide us with the exact number of participants at least eight days before the event, so we can mail their tickets and starting documents to them in time.

WHAT WILL CLUES LOOK LIKE?

We’re not going to spoil your adventure by telling you that, but we will say no two clues look the same! Foxtrail in London is exciting, challenging and completely unique. That’s why all our clues and tasks are one of a kind.

Keep your eyes peeled for clues everywhere. A humorous signpost attached to an interesting building or a unique gimmick might point you in the right direction; our trail is interactive, technical, educational and fun.

WHAT CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR DO YOU RECOMMEND?

We suggest you wear comfortable clothes according to the weather. You should wear sensible shoes, such as trainers, flat shoes with good soles or trekking shoes as you might end up walking up to four miles.

IS FOXTRAIL AN ALL-WEATHER EVENT?

Yes, our London trail can be carried out and enjoyed whatever the weather.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING ON A FOXTRAIL?

For groups of 2 – 18 foxtrailers:

You’ll need to bring a copy of your emailed booking confirmation with the bar code on it as it will be needed along the way. You’ll also need the starting document. Both can be printed or presented on a smartphone. We ask you to text your booking number to the helpline before you start.

For groups of 19 or more foxtrailers:

You’ll need to bring the confirmations, starting documents, Foxtrail tickets and lanyards with you. If you’re taking part in winter and start in the afternoon, we suggest you bring a torch for each team member.

WHAT ARE THE DEMANDS OF THE TRAIL?

You will need to be able to walk for approximately 2 ½ – 4 hours to complete our London trail. The demands are more of a mental nature as you will need wit and teamwork to be successful.

WHEN DO YOU NEED THE PRECISE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS?

We will need to know the precise number of participants for large groups or company events up to eight days before your start date at the very latest. You will receive an email reminding you to let us know precise numbers 14 days before your start date.

CAN AN EXPIRED VOUCHER BE REDEEMED?

Yes. Please contact Foxtrail for details.

HOW DO I DOWNLOAD THE FOXAPP?

The foxapp is currently in development and will be available to download soon.

CAN FOXTRAIL BE USED TO FINISH A COMPANY EVENT?

Many national and international companies have used Foxtrail to round off their company workshops, seminars and training days. Foxtrail enables the delegates to go outside, have fun and work as a team, which boosts morale and benefits the business as a whole.

HOW DOES THE START TIME WORK?

For groups of 2 – 18 foxtrailers:

If you have already purchased your tickets, you simply arrive at the start location, text your booking number to the helpline and begin the trail at the specified time.

If you are purchasing tickets on the day, you will need to visit the Tourist Information Centre at St Paul’s Cathedral before you start. You will also need to text your booking number to our helpline before setting out on your trail.

For groups of 19 or more foxtrailers:

Choose somewhere to meet your fellow foxtrailers near St Paul’s Visitor Information Centre. Communicate the start times for each team and provide them with the required documents. When the first team heads out, the other teams have time for a coffee break until it’s their turn to start.

WHO FORMS THE TEAMS IN GROUP BOOKINGS?

Participants will need to form the teams for all group bookings.

WHO DECIDES WHEN EACH TEAM DEPARTS?

For groups of 2 – 18 foxtrailers:

Your team will need to depart at your selected start time. Your booking is timed so you could miss out on clues if you start at the wrong time.

For groups of 19 or more foxtrailers:

Our local event managers will book teams on the appropriate trails. Departure times are binding and stated in the starting documents with all the information you’ll need. Your group’s local manager will talk you through your starting times.

IS THERE A MEETING POINT?

London Foxtrail begins at St Paul’s Cathedral’s Visitor Information Centre. We suggest you meet your fellow foxtrailers outside the information centre.

WHERE DOES THE TRAIL END?

The London trail ends at St Paul’s Cathedral’s Visitor Information Centre. Once you’ve finished, use your barcode to get a picture of your team outside the wonderful St Paul’s Cathedral. Your picture will be uploaded online, and you can also purchase a hard copy from the main desk for a fee.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE EVENT MANAGEMENT FEE?

The event management fee includes a personal event manager for your teams. Your personal event manager will organise your food and drink bookings, schedule teams, send your documents, confirmations and tickets to you and be your host throughout the day. They will make sure you have an enjoyable experience and can arrange entertainment after the event if required.

You will also receive assistance from our event manager with organising, scheduling and booking your trails, and arranging refreshments and meals. Our event manager will ensure you receive your starting documents with booking confirmation, Foxtrail tickets, public transport tickets, key chains and invoice in advance.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR CHILDREN?

We recommend Foxtrail for children aged 7 and over. Some puzzles are too difficult for small children and participants also need to be quite fit as there’s a lot of walking involved. (Please note, our London trail lasts at least 2 ½ hours, and much of the time is spent walking). You may bring children under the age of 7 with you. Children 6 years old and under go free.

WHAT AGE ONWARDS DO CHILDREN REQUIRE A PAYABLE TICKET?

All participants need to have a valid ticket to be able to have fun on the trail. We offer a discounted rate for children between 7 and 16 years old, and children 6 and under go free.

IS FOXTRAIL WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

Unfortunately, London is not as wheelchair friendly as we’d like and at present, Foxtrail is not suitable for wheelchair users. Our trail leads you up and down stairs where ramps are not available.

We are in the process of developing a wheelchair friendly trail so more people can enjoy our treasure hunt with a difference across London.

CAN I BRING A PRAM OR PUSHCHAIR?

Unfortunately, no. Despite Foxtrail being an adventure for outings with children, Foxtrail London is impracticable for prams or push chairs as our trail will lead you up and down stairs where ramps are not available.

We are in the process of developing a wheelchair, pram and pushchair friendly trail so more people can enjoy our treasure hunt with a difference across London.

HOW AND WHERE DO I PAY FOR FOXTRAIL?

For groups of 2 – 18 foxtrailers:

Groups of up to 18 foxtrailers can book via our website. Once you have booked, you will receive a confirmation email with your starting documents. Present your confirmation at the Visitor Information Centre at St Paul’s Cathedral, where you will need to buy your Foxtrail tickets.

For groups of 19 or more foxtrailers:

Foxtrail will carry out bookings for groups of 19 people or more and will send you the invoice with the event documents. Please call us to discuss booking requirements for large groups and corporate events.

CAN I MAKE CHANGES TO A BOOKING?

For groups of 2 – 18 foxtrailers:

You can change the number of participants via the link in your booking confirmation email.

For groups of 19 or more foxtrailers:

Changes will need to be discussed directly with our events managers. Please note, we will need to know the exact number of participants at least eight days before your event.

IS PUBLIC TRANSPORT INCLUDED?

No, public transport is not included in the cost of a Foxtrail ticket. You will need an oyster card, debit card or day travelcard as you will need to catch a tube, bus or boat along the trail. Please note, these are short journeys and as such, will not be expensive.

WHAT IS THE RESERVATION DEADLINE FOR LARGE-SCALE BOOKINGS (E.G. 80 PERSONS)?

The sooner you let us know when you plan to book a large group, the better, even if you don’t know the exact number of participants at the time. We’ll need the definite number of participants eight days before the event, so we have enough time to prepare and mail the tickets and starting documents to you.

You will need to notify Foxtrail before the event if the number of participants has increased or decreased by ten or more.

WHAT IS FOXTRAIL PLUS?

Foxtrail Plus is coming in 2019. Details will be released once Foxtrail Plus is available.

HOW LONG UNTIL I RECEIVE THE VOUCHERS?

Your vouchers will be sent electronically and will therefore be available immediately upon booking. If you’d prefer, we can gift wrap your vouchers and send them to your address. Please allow five working days for delivery.

HOW LONG ARE VOUCHERS VALID FOR?

Foxtrail vouchers have an expiry date on them. However, expired vouchers can be exchanged for new valid vouchers at no extra cost.

ARE THERE VOUCHERS FOR FAMILY TICKETS?

Yes, vouchers are available for family tickets.

I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A FOXTRAIL FOR 2 PEOPLE. CAN I MAKE A RESERVATION FOR MORE PARTICIPANTS?

Yes, you can. Simply book your preferred trail for all participants and enter your voucher code. When the code is entered, the correct amount is automatically deducted.

HOW DO I INSTALL THE FOX APP?

The Foxtrail app is currently in production and therefore unavailable to install at this time.

WHAT IS A QR CODE?

A QR code is a square-shaped matrix made up of black and white shapes. You will find one on your booking confirmation. Simply scan the code using a QR code reader to access the information it holds.

FEEDBACKS

People Say The Nicest Things About Our Trails

We completed a Foxtrail with our family on a rainy Saturday and despite the bad weather, enjoyed the originality of the questions, the good organisation and the varied course

“This was a great activity and took you all over. At first, I thought the cost was high, but the adventure was so well organised and clues so elaborate, it was justified”

We celebrated a 10th birthday with 6 children on a family Foxtrail. The children loved it, it was a challenge (even for us adults) but doable. It was wonderful to be out and about instead of being somewhere indoors
