If you’re looking for a corporate teambuilding retreat that will promote cooperation, boost morale, and get your staff socialising outside the workplace, then one of our London scavenger trails is the ideal activity. In this blog post, we’ll tell you more about what happens during the trail, and why it makes such an effective — and fun — corporate day out.

What happens during Foxtrail’s corporate teambuilding trail?

During our London corporate teambuilding trail, your employees will be split into groups of up to 7 people and tasked with following an urban treasure trail across the city. To complete the trail, they’ll need to crack codes, solve tricky clues, and decipher the hidden messages left behind by our cunning Fox. Plus, your team will get to see all sorts of famous London landmarks along the way, as well as a few hidden gems, too.

Once they’ve beaten the trail, you can even take your team for some celebratory refreshments in a private room at one of our partner hotels — just ask our team for more info when making your booking. Our classic trail takes around 2.5–4 hours to finish, depending on how well your staff can work as a team! You can learn more about what happens on our trails on our info page.

It helps staff to bond outside the office

Firstly, our Foxtrail London route is a fantastic way for employees to get to know one each other outside the workplace. While traditional work mixers like socialising over a meal or a few drinks can get staff chatting, bonding is often much more effective when everyone is collaborating on a joint task. Foxtrail London’s teambuilding trail is completely engaging, meaning your staff will really feel closer to one another once they’ve beaten the trail by working together.

It promotes problem solving

Your employees will need to put their heads together and think on their feet to solve the clues and break the codes. They’ll be using all their observational, analytical, and detective skills in a way that is fun, fast-paced and exciting. Many of the clues can be quite challenging, so they’ll really need to be fully engaged if they want to solve the trail.

There’s no need to worry about getting stuck, though: if a fiendishly difficult problem starts to get in the way of the fun, your team can always contact the Foxtrail helpline for a push in the right direction!

It’ll get staff actively exploring the city

London over the Thames

Foxtrail London will get your employees out of the office and exploring the city together on foot, which can be a great way to shake up their everyday routine. Taking your employees out of a corporate environment encourages them to get to know each other outside of a work context, and it’s certainly much better than spending all day cooped up indoors. Our trails involve a mix of walking and public transport, so you get to be active without being too strenuous, meaning it’s ideal for all ages and fitness levels.

It encourages teamwork

Foxtrail London can be challenging, so teamwork is a must. Our trails are designed to test their wits, meaning your staff will need to communicate with one another to solve the clues and navigate their way through the trail. So, if you’re looking for way to get your staff working together, or maybe shake up the dynamic and encourage a culture change in your workplace, Foxtrail London is a great way to do this.

…and most importantly, it’s great fun

Most importantly, Foxtrail London is a complete blast! All too often, traditional corporate retreats are indoor events involving lots of tedious, forgettable teambuilding exercises that do little to really help your employees connect with one another. Our treasure trail is a fast-paced, active outdoor adventure that will take your staff right into the heart of London, one of the most exciting cities in the world. It’s four miles of fun that we’re confident your employees will still be talking about for weeks to come — what could be better?

Our exciting Foxtrail London scavenger hunts will get your team solving all sorts of clues and riddles as they follow the trail across the city, which will promote teamwork, improve communication, and help employees to bond. Looking for a New and Unique Experience in London – Look No Further

So, after a year of planning we are proud to launch Foxtrail in London. Our Trail Architects have been busy planning your experience whilst the office team have been diligently contacting the various sights of London to seek collaboration and partnership. We are so happy that all our partners have been so proactive, and we are all ready to bring fun and inspiration to London.

So, what is Foxtrail? It’s a treasure hunt with a difference. It’s about being involved and having an interactive experience. It involves participants getting actively involved whilst having the opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of London. You could say that its like doing a treasure hunt as a kid. So, put down your phones (unless of course you need to text us for help with clues) and immerse yourself in the experience that is Foxtrail.

London is the World’s most visited city according to Wikipedia and for me I know exactly why. London has so much to offer and it doesn’t matter if you live in the City, work in the City or are just visiting, London delivers a different experience each and every day. It has been said that “When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life” Samuel Johnson.
So, if you are looking for what to do in London a family, a couple, a group of friends or work colleagues – look no further. Let me introduce you to London’s newest attraction.

All you need are 3- 4 hours, and the desire to experience a different London. London offers culture, sights, hidden gems and Foxtrail offers you the opportunity to explore this amazing City.
We look forward to welcoming you.

All good stories start at the very beginning and so that’s where I will start.

I am a businessman and not from a tourist or travel background although both have fascinated me from an early age. My belief is that if you have a great product and deliver an exceptional service then the company will succeed and grow. At the heart of Foxtail are the values of integrity and exceptional customer service – everything we do is around delivering an inspirational experience whilst ensuring customers are having fun and making memories.

So why did I get involved in Foxtrail and set it all up in the UK? I Initially went to Switzerland with my son Jimmy – who has since joined me in this company as MD and participated in a number of the Swiss Foxtrails. This is where I have a little chuckle. It reminds me a little of Victor Kiam when he said in 1978 “When my wife bought me a Remington shaver, I was so impressed I bought the company”. I too was impressed with the Foxtrail company in Switzerland and the experience they were delivering to families, couples, groups and corporate participants. I knew I had to be involved.

Fundamentally, Foxtrail were initially involved in organising unique and innovative trails across Switzerland. This has since expanded into Helsinki, Dubai and beyond. I am convinced that the trails are just different and deliver something quite unique. The Swiss have been running trails for twenty years and are very experienced in how to make this work. (and we all know how good the Swiss are on delivering what they say they will do.) We have been working with the Swiss Trail Architect (now that’s an amazing job title), who is currently planning our first trail in London and boy does that architect have vision and imagination. Coupled with the need for planning permissions and permissions from the sights of London, we are confident that we have something very special.

So that is our story – from little acorns grow trees. We have plans for 3 trails in London and expansion across the whole of the UK. Do follow us on social media to keep in touch with our plans.

We are launching our first trail in London in July after a year of planning. I’ts so important to us to deliver an exceptional experience. We hope that you will join us on our journey.

Best Regards

Shaun Horwood.

“I’ve been walking about London for the last thirty years, and I find something fresh in it every day”. Walter Besant, on his deathbed in 1901

For me like Walter Besant, London is a city of so many faces. You only have to look at the Instagram accounts of #Londonbeautifullife , #SecretLondon and #LondonGurus to name just a few.

Our treasure hunt is aimed at discovering the City and finding hidden gems along the way.

London is one of those cities that is unique and inspires different things in different people. Some say it’s the architecture. Certainly, London’s buildings are too diverse to be characterised by any particular architectural style. On our Foxtrail, you will be able to experience the uniqueness that is London. One forgotten area of London is its Natural History. London’s Natural History Society suggest that London is “one of the worlds greenest cities with more than 40 percent green space or open water”. Among the inhabitants of London are 10,000 red foxes, so that is 16 per. every square mile. Foxes can sneak anywhere – one has been found in the filing cabinet at the Houses of Parliament. You will need to keep your wits about you to follow our trail.

London also boasts 2000 species of flowering plants and the Thames supports 120 species of fish – do keep your eyes open.

Foxtrail is designed to offer a fun, unique and inspirational experience whilst discovering London

So, if you are looking for something different and a unique way to explore London – do join us. We look forward to welcoming you.
