All good stories start at the very beginning and so that’s where I will start.

I am a businessman and not from a tourist or travel background although both have fascinated me from an early age. My belief is that if you have a great product and deliver an exceptional service then the company will succeed and grow. At the heart of Foxtail are the values of integrity and exceptional customer service – everything we do is around delivering an inspirational experience whilst ensuring customers are having fun and making memories.

So why did I get involved in Foxtrail and set it all up in the UK? I Initially went to Switzerland with my son Jimmy – who has since joined me in this company as MD and participated in a number of the Swiss Foxtrails. This is where I have a little chuckle. It reminds me a little of Victor Kiam when he said in 1978 “When my wife bought me a Remington shaver, I was so impressed I bought the company”. I too was impressed with the Foxtrail company in Switzerland and the experience they were delivering to families, couples, groups and corporate participants. I knew I had to be involved.

Fundamentally, Foxtrail were initially involved in organising unique and innovative trails across Switzerland. This has since expanded into Helsinki, Dubai and beyond. I am convinced that the trails are just different and deliver something quite unique. The Swiss have been running trails for twenty years and are very experienced in how to make this work. (and we all know how good the Swiss are on delivering what they say they will do.) We have been working with the Swiss Trail Architect (now that’s an amazing job title), who is currently planning our first trail in London and boy does that architect have vision and imagination. Coupled with the need for planning permissions and permissions from the sights of London, we are confident that we have something very special.

So that is our story – from little acorns grow trees. We have plans for 3 trails in London and expansion across the whole of the UK. Do follow us on social media to keep in touch with our plans.

We are launching our first trail in London in July after a year of planning. I’ts so important to us to deliver an exceptional experience. We hope that you will join us on our journey.

Best Regards

Shaun Horwood.

“I’ve been walking about London for the last thirty years, and I find something fresh in it every day”. Walter Besant, on his deathbed in 1901

For me like Walter Besant, London is a city of so many faces. You only have to look at the Instagram accounts of #Londonbeautifullife , #SecretLondon and #LondonGurus to name just a few.

Our treasure hunt is aimed at discovering the City and finding hidden gems along the way.

London is one of those cities that is unique and inspires different things in different people. Some say it’s the architecture. Certainly, London’s buildings are too diverse to be characterised by any particular architectural style. On our Foxtrail, you will be able to experience the uniqueness that is London. One forgotten area of London is its Natural History. London’s Natural History Society suggest that London is “one of the worlds greenest cities with more than 40 percent green space or open water”. Among the inhabitants of London are 10,000 red foxes, so that is 16 per. every square mile. Foxes can sneak anywhere – one has been found in the filing cabinet at the Houses of Parliament. You will need to keep your wits about you to follow our trail.

London also boasts 2000 species of flowering plants and the Thames supports 120 species of fish – do keep your eyes open.

Foxtrail is designed to offer a fun, unique and inspirational experience whilst discovering London

So, if you are looking for something different and a unique way to explore London – do join us. We look forward to welcoming you.
